Mustard (sarson, rapeseed) is the main oilseed of North and East India. Its pungent kachi ghani oil is the cooking oil of Punjab, UP, Bihar, Bengal and Odisha, and its cake is a cattle feed.
Where Mustard Is Grown in Uttar Pradesh
The main mustard districts of Uttar Pradesh are Agra, Mathura, Etawah, Firozabad, Aligarh. Uttar Pradesh is India's largest producer of wheat, sugarcane, potato and many vegetables, and a leading producer of rice, mango, guava, peas and pulses.
