About Peas
Green peas (matar) are India's favourite winter vegetable and its most important frozen vegetable. Dry peas are also used as a cheaper pulse, and India imports yellow peas when its pulse crop is short.
Where Peas Is Grown in Madhya Pradesh
The main peas districts of Madhya Pradesh are Jabalpur, Sagar, Chhindwara, Katni. Madhya Pradesh is India's soybean state and one of its largest producers of wheat, chana, masoor, urad, garlic, coriander and isabgol. The Malwa plateau around Indore, Ujjain and Neemuch and the Narmada valley around Hoshangabad are its richest farm regions.
