About Soybean
Soybean is India's biggest kharif oilseed. It is crushed for soy oil and protein-rich soymeal for poultry feed, and India's non-GM soymeal has export buyers.

Quality and Price Notes
Soybean is traded on oil content, moisture and freedom from damaged and green beans. Indian soybean and soymeal prices move with world soybean prices, Indian edible oil import duties and domestic poultry demand. Soymeal exports are viable only when Indian prices are competitive with South American meal, so export volumes vary greatly year to year.
