What It Is
Mango pulp from Totapuri and Alphonso mangoes is the base of mango drinks, aamras, ice creams, yoghurts and desserts in India and abroad.
How It Is Made
Ripe mangoes are washed, ripened in chambers, pulped, de-seeded, heated, and packed aseptically or canned. Concentrate is made by removing water.

Beverage makers, dairy and ice-cream companies, bakeries and export buyers in the Gulf, Europe and the USA.
Quality and Standards
Graded by Brix, acidity, colour and microbiology. Food products must meet FSSAI standards and labelling rules; many are also sold under the AGMARK grading mark, and exporters follow the buying country's rules on residues and contaminants.
Trade and Exports
Chittoor (Andhra Pradesh) and Krishnagiri (Tamil Nadu) are the main pulp hubs, with units also in Gujarat and Maharashtra.
