Overview

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana funds mega food parks, cold chains and processing units, and PM-FME supports small food processing units with credit-linked subsidy and branding help.

How It Works in Practice

PMKSY includes components for mega food parks, integrated cold chains, agro-processing clusters, food testing labs and backward and forward linkages. PM-FME helps micro food processors upgrade, register and brand their products.

Rules and Support

Both are run by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries. PM-FME follows a "One District One Product" approach.

What It Means for Farmers and Traders

These schemes are especially useful for FPOs and small businesses turning local crops into pickles, flours, snacks, spices, juices and other products.
