Farming and Trade in Odisha

Odisha grows rice on most of its farmland and procures large volumes for the central pool. It is also a major producer of vegetables such as brinjal, cabbage, cauliflower and tomato, of cashew in Ganjam and Gajapati, and of Kandhamal turmeric, which holds a GI tag.

Farm produce is sold through regulated APMC market yards under the state's agricultural produce marketing law, run by the state agricultural marketing board, with many yards linked to eNAM. Paddy is bought through cooperative societies and an online token system.
