Farming and Trade in Jharkhand
Jharkhand grows rice on its plateau uplands and lowlands, along with pulses such as urad and tur, maize, and a large range of vegetables, including tomato, okra and cauliflower, that supply Kolkata, Bihar and Odisha.
Farm produce is sold through regulated APMC market yards under the state's agricultural produce marketing law, run by the state agricultural marketing board, with many yards linked to eNAM. The state has been reforming its markets and promoting FPOs.
