How It Is Grown
Pineapple is planted from suckers and fruits after 15–18 months; growers use plant-growth regulators to time flowering. Kew and Queen are the main varieties.

Quality and Price
Graded by weight, sweetness and crown condition.
Government Role
Pineapple has no minimum support price, so it is bought almost entirely by private traders, processors and exporters. Government support comes through horticulture and crop missions, market regulation, export promotion and research.
